Recognition is a meaningful incentive that encourages me to continue to pursue excellence in my nursing practices and care quality. It is because of my dedicated work ethic and positive attitude that I have been fortunate enough to be formally recognized by both my peers and unit leadership. Below are some examples from peers and leadership that recognize how I am a exemplary leader, supportive teammate and dedicated employee. Please enjoy reviewing some of the kudos I have received this year that highlight my influence and effectiveness on productivity and moral within the AIP Operating Room.

The Extra Mile In the pursuit of practice excellence, I have dedicated myself to the growth and development of my clinical practice. Through stewardship and leadership, I have expanded my practice to not only reflect role model behaviors but to also provide role model service for my unit. One example of how I exceed expectations and continuously pursued opportunities to best serve my peers and patients can be assessed through my ancillary role as the Interim Spine Service Specialist in June 2015.

Facilitating the role as Interim Spine Service Specialist helped to reveal how I frequently undertake additional assignments and responsibilities to support both my team and my unit. Assuming this role allowed me to demonstrate my leadership abilities but more importantly to support the Spine Team staff and surgeons. Fulfilling this role also displays how my proficient organizational skills encourage coordination, collaboration and communication for efficient practices of the AIP Spine Team. The PDF's provided below are weekly plans I prepared to manage Spine team staffing and call, surgeon block time as well as instrument and equipment scheduling/conflicts. The spine updates document highlights a summary of all the additional coordination I completed during my term. The thank you document recognizes validation for my hard work and dedication from the permanent Spine Service Specialist. Please review these documents as evidence supporting my role model practices and dedication to "go the extra mile" in order to create a successful environment as a Clinical Nurse in the OR.
