Preceptor Policy Literature Review
During review of both the Preceptor Policy Guideline and the Registered Nurse Preceptor Policy, I found both documents obtained outdated references supporting the content of the policies. Because healthcare is an ever-evolving field and is heavily invested in research and development, I elected to complete a current literature review in order to root evidence-based practices as references within my Staff Preceptor Policy draft. Throughout my search I found that the topic and thesis of preceptor development has not been readily addressed in the literature within the past ten years. Therefore I elected to revisit the Registered Nurse Preceptor Policy and collaborated with Bebe Hoff to maintain majority of the references within my Staff Preceptor Policy draft. However, I did find, review and reference three additional resources, including an updated expert opinion text of Patricia Benner. Please review the document below as my literature review with Levels of Evidence utilized to support the UCH Preceptor Policy revision.
